The City of Coffeyville has entered a Stage 1 Water Watch and that applies to Consolidated Rural Water District #1.
Goal of the "Water Watch"
The goal of the “Water Watch” stage is to call on all Consolidated Rural Water District #1 water consumers to employ voluntary water conservation measures to limit or eliminate non-essential water use including limitations on the following:
- Sprinkling of water on lawns, shrubs or trees.
- Washing of automobiles
- Use of water in swimming pools, fountains and evaporative air conditioning systems.
- Waste of water
The Consolidated Rural Water District #1 will repair leaks in a timely manner, monitor its use of water and curtail activities such as hydrant flushing and street cleaning. All water customers can further support conservation efforts by regularly checking faucets, toilets and hoses for leaks, not leaving water running while lathering hands and brushing teeth, run dishwashers and washing machines only when full, and using a broom to clean driveways and sidewalks instead of watering.
